Leeds United travel to Stamford Bridge this evening hoping to surprise Chelsea in the FA Cup after their defeat at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Leeds and Daniel Farke are now soaring high in the Championship, having won nine straight games since the turn of the year, most notably defeating Leicester City from behind at Elland Road.
The FA Cup Fifth Round begins today with a visit to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and Farke is expected to make changes despite a packed schedule.
Leeds team news: Four fresh worries, Byram returns
Following their victory over the Foxes, Leeds will face new challenges, even if they are minor.
Georginio Rutter (hip flexor), Patrick Bamford (calf), Crysencio Summerville (ankle), and Dan James (bruise) have all suffered setbacks since Friday’s victory.
Meanwhile, Sam Byram is anticipated to return after a recent hamstring flare-up (via LUFC):
Junior Firpo and Ethan Ampadu will be involved today.
There is little indication of how many changes Farke will make ahead of the game, but two players who started against Leicester will play.
Ethan Ampadu and Junior Firpo shared a pre-match graphic on their Instagram stories
Farke needs to rotate keeping Huddersfield in mind.
Players who are prone to injury should not play today, but given that Firpo is one of our only two alternatives at left-back, it is difficult not to include him.
He’s been in excellent form recently and deserves to preserve his place wherever possible, but it’s a significant risk.
Our more significant game is against Huddersfield Town this weekend, and the league is currently a top priority.
