‘Sour Taste’: Pundit thinks Everton must sell their finest players to sign Leeds misfit

Jack Harrison left a “sour taste” when he left for Everton, and Daniel Farke does not appear to want the winger back at Leeds United, according to Paul Robinson.

The Englishman moved from Elland Road to Goodison Park on loan last summer, amid tensions between the clubs over the Toffees avoiding relegation at the expense of the Whites, despite a profit and sustainability penalty.

However, the former England goalkeeper believes that is exactly why Sean Dyche’s team would struggle to keep the 27-year-old unless they trade some of their best assets to fund a deal.

He exclusively told MOT Leeds News: “Yeah, the way the move came about, especially to Everton, left a sour taste, but that aside, I think he’s done well this season in an efficient Everton team.” He plays a role in Sean Dyche’s side.

“They’re definitely going to have to sell some of their best players in order to accumulate [so] whether Jack’s one they want to accumulate once players have gone out the door [will be determined].

“A move for him does look likely, but it’s hugely, hugely important as to what league Leeds are in, because he carries a different value as a Championship player than he does as a Premier League player.”

Everton have to sell their finest players to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United.

Given the circumstances, it does not appear like Harrison or Leeds are in the mood for a reunion, and the Whites have not missed him in the Championship.

After defeating league leaders Leicester City twice on Friday (23 February), automatic promotion appears to be a serious possibility, and Farke is not ruling out a third second-tier title.

However, as things stand, the Toffees would undoubtedly struggle to afford a permanent deal in that situation, therefore the former Manchester City player may have to look for another new club in the summer.
