Daniel Farke, Leeds United’s head coach, has commented on Illan Meslier’s performance against Plymouth Argyle.
Farke’s Leeds won the Championship match 2-0 on Saturday.
So, what did Daniel Farke say about Illan Meslier, Leeds United’s goalkeeper? Let’s have a look.
Daniel Farke praised Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Leeds United defeated Plymouth Argyle 2-0 away at Home Park in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Willy Gnonto scored the first goal for Leeds in the tenth minute. Georginio Rutter supplied the assist.
Rutter made it 2-0 for the West Yorkshire club after 72 minutes. Joel Piroe provided the assist.
Illan Meslier is one of Leeds’ most successful players. The £5 million (The Yorkshire Evening Post) Frenchman performed admirably in the second half, when Plymouth upped their game and appeared extremely comfortable at set pieces. The head coach, Daniel Farke, was impressed.
Farke told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Meslier: “I thought he was outstanding today.” He didn’t make a stunning save; we’ve seen him do it before, but it was one of his better performances of the season.
“He made sound decisions, was strong in set pieces, and had good footwork. You could sense his presence on the pitch today, and as a goalkeeper, returning with a clean sheet means you’ve done everything correctly.”
