‘Sadly’… Daniel Farke admits £7 million Leeds United player won’t be available tomorrow or against Leicester

Daniel Farke provided an injury report ahead of Leeds United’s trip to Plymouth Argyle tomorrow.

The Whites will be hoping to make it seven wins in a row in the Championship, but they will be missing a few of key players for their third encounter in three weeks.

Pascal Struijk, Sam Byram, Patrick Bamford, Jamie Shackleton, Karl Darlow, and Stuart Dallas were absent from the midweek triumph over Swansea City, and a new update was released today.

Bamford was scheduled to start in South Wales on Tuesday, but he was forced to withdraw during the warm-up owing to muscular issues, and Joel Piroe replaced him.

In his pre-match press conference, Farke delivered an update on Bamford’s absence, which appears to be for the next two matches.

    Farke confirms Bamford’s absence.
He stated, “Unfortunately, he is not available for this game. He has some issues with his calf. We don’t expect him to be out for very long. I do not expect him to be available for Leicester. We believe he will return for the cup game or the league match following.”

This setback comes at the worst possible time for the £7 million striker, who recently said that he is the happiest he has been on the pitch in a long time.

Bamford had not started a single game in the first half of the season, but he has returned to form in front of goal after the turn of the year, playing an important role in Leeds’ recent success.

Fortunately, Bamford will not be away for long, and it appears like he will return for a very busy stretch of matches at the beginning of March, which is vital.

Piroe, who scored against his former club Swansea upon his return to the starting lineup, will make an excellent substitute in the meanwhile.
