DeMarcus Cousins talked about Duke standout Cooper Flagg.
Cooper Flagg is perhaps the best college basketball player in the country, despite being only 18.
There is a good likelihood he will be the top choice in the 2025 NBA Draft this summer.
However, former NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins believes Flagg should remain in college (if the Utah Jazz do not receive the first overall choice).
Cousins (on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back): “Cooper Flagg… Return to Duke or the Jazz brothers. Pelicans, you’ll be lost in the mix with the Saints. Wizards don’t care. Hornets, we just concluded a 30-minute feature about them… Utah, you will be a hero.
In 30 games, Flagg has averaged 19.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks, while shooting 49.7% from the field and 38.2% from three.
In addition to his outstanding play, he has helped the squad go 27-3 in 30 games (including 17-0 at home).
According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, Cooper Flagg did not reclassify (he should be a high school senior) to play two years of college. He’s headed to the NBA after this season, regardless of who gets the first pick or how well Duke performs in the tournament.
As for Cousins, he was once among the most dominant players in the NBA when he played for the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans.
The four-time NBA All-Star last played in the league during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Denver Nuggets.
