Forest is battling with Manchester City, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa for the top of the Premier League.
Gary Neville has given his assessment of Nottingham Forest’s top four Premier League hopes following their defeat to Newcastle United.
Nottingham Forest remain in third position in the Premier League despite losing 4-3 against Newcastle on Sunday.
However, they are only three points ahead of Manchester City in fourth place and Newcastle in fifth.
Their next two Premier League matches are against Arsenal and Manchester City.
On his Sky Sports podcast, Neville stated: “I think Nottingham Forest have been absolutely amazing, the story of the season.” But I think they’ll find it hard to hang on.
“I hope they hang in there, but I believe it will be difficult for them to do so.
“I believe City, Villa, Newcastle, and Chelsea might just… Twelve games is a long way to go.
“I believe it could be a long 12 games for Nottingham Forest.
“I hope they stay there because I believe it would be fantastic for the Premier League.
“We need to see clubs that have been in the bottom one season getting up into the top six, top four, that’s what we need.”
“At the moment, I’m saying City, Newcastle and Villa in the top five, but it could easily be Forest and Chelsea, I think it’s really so close,” he told reporters.
