Tottenham Hotspur won 2-1 against Brighton and Albion in the Premier League yesterday.

After losing early in the first half, the North London club responded forcefully in the second half with a goal from Pape Matar Sarr on the hour mark. Brennan Johnson scored the game-winning goal deep into injury time.

Son Heung-min set up the winner with a beautiful pass, which Johnson converted into a goal.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has talked up about the South Korean international’s return and his outstanding assist against Brighton. The Australian said that Son’s prompt return was critical to the team’s success, and that his world-class ability made the winning pass appear simple.

Postecoglou noted that the South Korean is a world-class player who made a difference when his team needed him.

“It’s fair to say that we’re still a work in progress, but we had a world-class player in Son [Heung-min], who makes the most difficult ball look easy when setting up Brennan [Johnson]. Going into the game, we looked at the roster and understood we might change things up. “It is fair to say that held up,” Postecoglou told the BBC.

The 31-year-old has been in excellent form this season, scoring 12 goals and assisting six times. He will attempt to lead Tottenham to Champions League qualification. Tottenham are presently fourth in the league table, just two points behind arch rivals Arsenal, who are third.

It would be intriguing to see if Tottenham can build on their success against Brighton and go on a winning streak now. There is no doubt that they have the squad to perform well in the next weeks and finish the season strong.
