Rangers are looking to usher into a new era after exciting news of the Ibrox takeover has emerged in the past 24 hours.
According to the Daily Record, billionaire owners of the San Francisco 49ers have been engaged in high-level discussions to buy Rangers since before the start of the year, and they are now in advanced talks to get the deal done.
The 49ers, who also own Leeds United and the American football side, have turned their attention towards Rangers, with Elland Road chairman Paraag Marathe behind the move.
The Bears have long been overshadowed by their dominant rivals, Celtic, and the news (although there is nothing concrete yet) should excite the fan base.
BBC Scotland has claimed that sources close to the negotiations are hopeful that the deal could be signed and sealed around June.

Barry Ferguson has shared his excitement in his column for the Daily Record. The former Gers skipper said that it feels like the “real deal”, and that this is a great opportunity for the club to become great once again.
He wrote: “Like I say, there’s still some way to go before the Americans have got this deal over the line. And it’s natural to feel a bit wary until the deal is over the line because these things are never done until they are done.
“But, over the last 24 hours, I’ve been looking into what this might mean for my old club and I must admit, I’m excited. This doesn’t feel like pie in the sky. It feels like the real deal – and anyone with any connection with Rangers knows it’s exactly what the place has been crying out for.”
Rangers have won only one Scottish Premiership title in their last 13 years, and they are crying out for new investments.
Over the years, numerous managers have come and gone, and money has been recklessly spent. However, the club need proper funding and direction, and it can only happen under a proper ownership model.
The 49ers-owned Leeds are top of the Championship, and they are most likely to return to the Premier League after missing out on promotion last season.
