‘Inevitable’: Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts who will win later this evening, Leeds or Sunderland

Leeds United and Sunderland might play a season-defining encounter on Monday night.

The Championship continues to surprise, and it may have another trick up its sleeve for Monday night’s match.

Leeds are in a strong position heading into the game against the Black Cats, as Daniel Farke’s team can extend their unbeaten streak to 15 games if they avoid defeat to Sunderland.

Despite their good form, Sunderland are a bogey team for Farke, so it will not be an easy game.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has already offered his predictions for how this critical encounter would play out.

Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts the winner of Leeds against Sunderland.

Pascal Struijk could be available for Leeds, as the defender’s return to full fitness would benefit not only the Sunderland game, but the rest of the season.

The Whites have the opportunity to take advantage of Scott Parker’s Burnley’s defeat at Preston, extending their lead to seven points.

Agbonlahor spoke to talkSPORT breakfast with Jeff Stelling (February 17th, 7:36 a.m.) about how the match could end.

“Leeds have won 12 of their last 13 at home – Tough game, but it looks like a fortress, Elland Road,” Agbonlahor tweeted.

“The inevitable is a win this evening for Leeds.”

If Leeds win the Sunderland match, promotion is just around the corner.

With 14 games remaining in the Championship, it is difficult to predict whether this will be a promotion-deciding game. Or is it?

Regis Le Bris stated that Leeds are a ‘danger’, which may be causing worries in Sunderland’s young squad.

Both teams are in the promotion race this season, but Leeds may discover that their remaining games have been more favourable.

Of course, the Whites have Sheffield United and West Brom to play after Sunderland in a demanding couple of weeks for Farke, but after that, they only face two of the top half, which speaks volumes.

Leeds fans may start dreaming if they win on Monday night and have comfortable results in the next two games.
