According to Turkish media reports, Galatasaray forward Barış Alper Yılmaz is preparing for a summer struggle.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest since his Euro 2024 performances, with reports claiming an offer came in from the English club last summer.
Haber Sarikirmizi reported on Yağız Sabuncuoğlu’s comments to A Spor when asked about Galatasaray’s transfer activity during the last window.
The prominent Turkish journalist reiterated Nottingham Forest came in with a €20-25m offer for Yılmaz, and made it sound like they’d done so again in January.
Nottingham Forest offered €20+5 million to Galatasaray for Barış Alper Yılmaz during the transfer window. “Barış frequently receives offers,” stated the journalist.
We followed news from Turkey in January that Nottingham Forest had made a move for Yılmaz but were told he wasn’t for sale. At the time, it was reported that the Premier League club, along with Lazio, were exploring the prospect of signing the player.
It appears that he will depart Galatasaray in the summer, with Napoli reportedly the latest club to express interest in the right winger. The Italians will reportedly scout him tonight.
Yılmaz is contracted with Galatasaray until June 2027.
