Leeds United are prepared to return to Championship action against Sunderland on Monday.
The Whites are coming off a 4-0 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road, in which Daniel Farke’s side dominated their opponents.
Looking ahead to their forthcoming game, Leeds have been involved in a pair of transfer stories, and Farke has singled out one of his players as “crucial” to his goals at Elland Road.
MOT Leeds News brings together all of the day’s top stories in one location.
Daniel Farke reveals which player is currently ‘crucial’ for Leeds United.
So far, the 2024/25 season has been excellent for Leeds and its fans, with the West Yorkshire club sitting comfortably at the top of the Championship table.
They’d be half the team they are this season if Dan James wasn’t so involved in LS11.
His 16 goals in all competitions are one of the key reasons for Leeds’ supremacy this season, so it’s no wonder that Farke described James as a “crucial” member of his club.
Leeds United’s three players were chosen to the Championship Team of the Week after a 4-0 victory over Watford on Tuesday.
Following their first meeting earlier in the season, many expected the Hornets to put up a fight, but Leeds dominated them.
So it’s no surprise that Joel Piroe, Manor Solomon, and James were chosen three of the Championship’s top 11 players in the recent week.
Rasmus Kristensen might leave for £5 million.
Rasmus Kristensen’s name is sure to make Leeds fans tremble at the mere thought of it.
Since the Whites were relegated from the Premier League, the Dane has been looking for a way out, having spent the previous two seasons on loan away from Elland Road.
So, given that the right-back is doing well for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, it’s hardly surprising that the German club is looking at the Whites’ request for a permanent transfer.
However, Bild says that Frankfurt only wants to pay £5 million for the defender, which is a few pence short of the £12.5 million agreed upon when the loan agreement was approved.
Despite the £7.5 million difference, it appears that negotiations have “intensified” between the two parties, with both wanting to reach an agreement.
Callum Wilson is on Daniel Farke’s shortlist.
As the winter transfer window closed, the Whites were connected with Southampton’s Cameron Archer and Adam Armstrong in an attempt to address their number nine depth.
In the end, nothing came of Ivan Juric’s hesitation to release Archer in case he needed him later in the season.
However, now that the window has closed, suspicions have surfaced about the futures of certain out-of-contract players, including Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, who is reportedly on Leeds’ radar.
TBR Football (13 February) reports that Leeds are interested in obtaining his services.
This would be a daring move from Leeds, especially given his injury history, but it would demonstrate that they mean business, regardless of league.
