Leeds have terminated Djed Spence’s loan agreement, returning him to Tottenham.
He joined Elland Road in August, but has only appeared in seven league games.
Leeds United have returned Djed Spence to Tottenham Hotspur after triggering a break clause to end his loan deal.
Since signing on a season-long loan in August, the 23-year-old winger has made just seven Championship appearances due to a knee injury.
Spence suffered the injury during a training session shortly after arriving in the summer.
He then missed 12 league games before returning to action in Leeds‘ 2-0 win over Blackburn in December.
The right-back joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough in 2022 for £20 million before heading on loan to Rennes for the second half of the season.
Despite missing a number of games between August and November, Spence returned to play in six of Leeds‘ final seven games.
His return to north London will be welcomed by Ange Postecoglou, whose team has been plagued by injuries to key defenders recently.
Cristian Romero has been ruled out indefinitely due to a hamstring ailment, while Micky van de Ven has only recently returned to training after suffering a soft tissue injury.
Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who is also wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea.
Spurs held talks to sign the defender in December, and he is thought to be worth around £35 million.
