With four possible signings on the horizon, Liverpool may have a busy transfer deadline. Richard Hughes had better hold on to his phone.
The deadline for transfers is almost here. Although it is understandable that many people would have thought the transfer window would end yesterday, England’s deadline is really February 3rd at 11 p.m.
The deadlines for the majority of top European leagues will also fall on same day, although at 5 p.m. The rush of proposals before the weekend is a result of the Saudi Pro League closing its transfer market on the 31st.
But there’s still more to come for everyone else. Additionally, Liverpool will most likely be involved in some capacity.
In reality, the Reds’ window opened with a bang as Real Madrid placed a bid for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Although Liverpool correctly turned down that offer, they soon had to deal with other offers, this time for Ben Doak.
However, those were also turned down since neither Ipswich Town nor Crystal Palace were willing to pay the asking amount for Doak. As things stand, that’s one to keep an eye on in the summer, but there might be another late bid.
However, Doak isn’t one of the four players you should be watching as the deadline approaches. These are the players for whom Liverpool may be negotiating.
Morton Tyler
Tyler Morton certainly looks like he might be mistaken. West Ham United is reportedly interested in Morton and may place a bid before the deadline, according to TalkSport.
After spending the previous season on loan at Hull City, Morton was a surprise addition to Liverpool’s roster in the summer. Arne Slot managed to hang onto him despite everyone’s expectations of a sale or another loan.
However, Morton’s failure to play against PSV Eindhoven in the middle of the week is a clear indication that he may be leaving soon. This is one to keep a careful eye on since there will be interest.
Gordon Kaide
In 2024–2025, Kaide Gordon was expected to have a great first senior season. Regretfully, his loan at Norwich City didn’t work out.
He was recalled by Liverpool this month, and it is now expected that they will send him on another one. However, it’s unclear exactly where.
Gordon’s chances of making it as a Championship player this season are likewise uncertain. Would it make more sense to drop down to League One?
Given Gordon’s one-time pledge, Liverpool must make a significant choice.l
Danns Jayden
After Jayden Danns’ appearance against PSV Eindhoven in the middle of the week, Arne Slot left the possibility of a short-term loan open. The boss stated unequivocally that he had no idea if Danns will leave or not.
Regarding a possible loan, Slot stated, “I don’t know at the moment, to be honest.” “But I think what I like most about him, and with most of the academy players, is the mentality they have.”
Danns was then hyped up by Slot, who was obviously impressed by the child. However, the fact that he would not rule out a loan indicates that Liverpool is considering one before the deadline.
McConnell James
Regarding James McConnell and Danns possibly heading on loan, Arne Slot stated on Friday, “These are also ongoing discussions we have.”
Football is like that—today and tomorrow can be different from yesterday.
“If I can give you a specific response right now, and naturally, we don’t hope that this will occur, it will be different if they leave the training field after we sustain three injuries during the session.
“So, we are talking a lot about this process, and these decisions will be made near the end of the window, which is almost here.”
