Rotherham United go to Elland Road on Saturday to face Leeds United.
Rotherham United are likely to travel to Leeds United on Saturday without a number of important players due to injuries. The Millers are now propping up the Championship, 12 points adrift of safety, following a run of play that has seen them win just once since October, with only four points earned on the road this season.
To make matters worse for Rotherham, who drew with Leeds at the New York Stadium in November, the club is dealing with an injury problem, with many players ruled out for this weekend’s game. The Millers were already without Shane Ferguson, Tyler Blackett, Grant Hall, and Andre Green, but Leam Richardson has announced that Cohen Bramall has joined them in the treatment room.
The former Arsenal full-back has an ankle problem and will not play this weekend.
“He’ll be out for some time,” Richardson told the Rotherham Advertiser. “It will cover the majority of the rest of the season. We get one back (Cameron Humphreys), but Cohen leaves. We haven’t had much luck with injuries.
“You do not want to lose any of your players.” It’s a difficult, but you persevere and adapt. “It is someone else’s opportunity.”
Daniel Ayala will not be involved, either. The veteran defender, who has been with Rotherham since signing a short-term contract in October, has been struggling with an Achilles injury.
“He is still struggling. “There are a few things going on there,” Richardson confirmed.
Leeds have their own injury issues, with Pascal Struijk and Dan James working their way back to full health. However, the Whites will be seeking for their sixth consecutive Championship win this weekend, keeping the pressure on Southampton and Ipswich Town in the fight for automatic promotion.
