Lucas Bergvall, a Tottenham Hotspur teenager, has been compared to Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong by his former coach.
Spurs closed the winter transfer window by signing Bergvall. Tottenham defeated Barcelona to sign him, and he is widely regarded as a truly exciting talent.
Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall is a ‘little clone of Frenkie de Jong’.
Last week, Tottenham bought Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden for £8.5 million.
The 18-year-old appeared to be on his way to Barcelona, but when Tottenham came in and outlined their concept, the youngster turned down the Catalans and selected Spurs.
Bergvall is an excellent young player. Peter Kisfaludy, his childhood coach, believes the boy has the potential to be as excellent as Dejan Kulusevski in the future.
Kisfaludy went on to describe the type of player Bergvall is, and his comparison will thrill Tottenham fans who are eager to see the youngster in action next season.
Kisfaludy told Football London: “His best position is as a number eight.” He’s a box-to-box player who runs into the box and is particularly adept at passing between the lines.
“He’s a miniature version of Frenkie de Jong.
“He’s really fast with the ball, really good with the ball and a fantastic dribbler.”
Bergvall will complement Ange-ball.
Ange Postecoglou’s football approach has been one of Tottenham’s greatest this season.
Spurs no longer play dull, defensive football. They are currently one of the most exciting teams to watch in the country, which makes them an extremely appealing club for players.
Bergvall will integrate into the Tottenham team. Yes, he’ll need time to adjust to the pace and physicality of the English game, but he’s a silky midfielder with good ball control, dribbling ability, and a keen eye for a pass.
