Leeds United are interested in signing Willem Geubbels from FC St. Gallen during the winter transfer window, according to Lyall Thomas.
The writer revealed on Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (21 January, 12:18 pm) that the Whites are looking to sign the 23-year-old on loan.
Leeds’ Championship rivals Norwich City and West Brom are reportedly interested in signing the centre-forward.
Daniel Farke will add Willem Geubbels’ firepower to Leeds United
Leeds United are certainly not short of options up forward, with Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph, and Patrick Bamford already on the roster.
However, it appears like Daniel Farke is looking to add more firepower to his assault as he attempts to lead Elland Road to promotion this season.
Piroe has cemented himself as Farke’s first-choice striker this season, but the German coach cannot be blamed for wanting a centre-forward who can score more frequently.
The Dutchman has scored just three goals in his past ten Championship games, two of which came in a 2-0 win over Stoke City on Boxing Day.
Geubbels, meanwhile, has six goals and two assists in 13 league games for FC St. Gallen this season, in addition to three goals in other tournaments.
It remains to be seen whether the West Yorkshire outfit will increase their interest in the Frenchman and bring him to Elland Road for the second half of the season.
