Nottingham Forest will look to sign one or two new players before the January transfer window closes in early February.
The Reds are riding high in the Premier League and will travel to Bournemouth next weekend in a strong position.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been praised by pundits this season. Forest has only been defeated four times this season and is on an eight-match unbeaten streak.
As a result, new signings aren’t necessarily required. However, Evangelos Marinakis would like to add a new striker to the squad before the transfer market closes.
It remains to be seen what will occur this month. With Forest on the verge of accomplishing something incredible, Marinakis may take a chance in the coming weeks.
Nottingham Forest wants Thomas Kristensen.
The Reds may not feel the need for much this month, making it even more surprise if a new defender is on the shortlist.
Forest already have a plethora of central defensive options, but On the Minute reports that the Reds are in the running to sign Udinese player Kristensen this month.
Espirito Santo does not have the upper hand in this negotiation. Juventus is reportedly pursuing him, with Premier League rivals Leicester and Brentford also interested.
Kristensen has only made nine appearances this season, although he has a contract with the Serie A club until 2028.
The 6ft 6in man mountain has been in Italy since 2023, when he moved from Aarhus, Denmark, and has made 35 appearances for Udinese.
Kristensen has had his fair share of injury difficulties, which would be cause for concern if Forest chose him.
Forest should only sign offensive players this month.
Signing a new defender makes little sense. Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, and Morato have all performed admirably this season, with Willy Boly also proving capable.
Kristensen’s physical presence would be extremely beneficial, but there is a sense that Forest do not need a central defender this month.
Attacking players are not in short supply, but the squad choices outside of the starting eleven are raw and inexperienced, such as Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa.
As a result, it’s critical that Forest sign the attacking players they want this month, and hopefully this Kristensen contract is for the summer instead.
