Rangers are willing to accept a “major offer” for Cyriel Dessers during the January transfer window, according to Football Insider sources.
On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 30-year-old is regarded as a “sellable asset” by the Scottish club.
The striker is seen to be past his prime, which is why Philippe Clement’s team is open to bids.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Dessers will not be content playing second fiddle which has been the case for the bulk of this season.
The Nigeria international has only started 11 of 20 Scottish Premiership games, his most recent start coming on December 29.
Dessers has appeared 32 times in all competitions for Clement’s team, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists.
Rangers will allow Cyriel Dessers to move on

Dessers has come under heavy criticism at times this season from fans due to not being clinical enough, despite the goals he has been scoring.
Joshua Barrie of Rangers Review has claimed that the Gers have already held preliminary talks with clubs interested in the striker as he edges closer toward an Ibrox exit.
Dessers has been with the Rangers since 2023, appearing in 86 games, scoring 35 goals and assisting 13 times.
The Gers are trying to bolster their team during the January transfer window, particularly in midfield.
Football Insider reported that the team is “well placed” to sign Alan Campbell from Luton Town this month.
