Sky Sports reports that Lille defender Rafael Fernandes has arrived in Scotland ahead of a potential loan transfer to Rangers.

On January 17 at 7:25 p.m., the news site stated that Gers are close to a deal to sign the 22-year-old.

Given the club’s injury situation, Philippe Clement is said to be interested in adding a defender.

Rangers made quick progress with Rafael Fernandes.

The fact that he has already landed in Scotland indicates that the club has made swift progress with his transfer.

He would not have flown in if things had only just begun.

Lille’s decision to loan him out makes sense given that he has yet to make a senior appearance in Ligue 1.

This is despite paying £2 million to obtain his services, and he has the potential to make a significant impact at Ibrox.

While he is not a household name, the same can be said for Hamza Igamane and Neraysho Kasanwirjo, both of whom have excelled.

There will undoubtedly have been some groundwork done in scouting him prior to the club’s current pursuit of his services.
