Tottenham are allegedly interested in acquiring Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi and may consider a player-plus-cash deal involving Yves Bissouma to facilitate the move.
Yves Bissouma joined Spurs in the summer of 2022 from Brighton for £30 million.
Following a difficult debut season under Antonio Conte, the Malian international has flourished under Ange Postecoglou. This season, he has had outstanding performances, collecting back-to-back Man of the Match awards against Brentford and Manchester United.
His ability to protect the defenders, control transitions, and set the pace of play has made him a key member of Tottenham’s midfield.
Despite his comeback under Postecoglou, rumors say Spurs may consider bids for the 28-year-old if they are in line with the club’s long-term plans.
Bryan King: Tottenham could offer Bissouma as a player-plus-cash deal for Davide Frattesi.
Former Spurs scout Bryan King has suggested that the club employ Bissouma in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi.
Speaking to Tottenham News, he stated:
“That would certainly be an interesting player [Frattesi] to bring to the club.”
“However, it seems expected that a Tottenham midfielder, such as Bissouma, will leave or be included in the deal.
“Who knows, maybe if Bissouma wants a fresh start, and Frattesi does too, Spurs could offer Bissouma plus cash to Inter Milan.”
Tottenham in front row to sign Frattesi.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are reported to be in the “front row” to sign Davide Frattesi, with insiders stating the club is prepared to make a €32 million move for the Italian midfielder “immediately.”
Frattesi, 25, joined Inter Milan after a successful term at Sassuolo and was a member of the club’s title-winning side last season. Despite his limited starts under Simone Inzaghi, the midfielder has demonstrated his attacking ability this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 16 games.
Frattesi’s career statistics highlight his offensive contributions, with 55 goals and 25 assists in 322 appearances across all competitions. Notable events include his debut goal for Inter in a 5-1 Derby della Madonnina victory over AC Milan, as well as a last-minute winner against Udinese.
A swap transaction involving Bissouma and Frattesi could be mutually advantageous for both clubs. Inter Milan are in need of midfield reinforcements, and Bissouma’s defensive abilities and Premier League experience could help.
Meanwhile, Tottenham would add a dynamic box-to-box midfielder in Frattesi, whose attacking prowess would compliment Postecoglou’s fast pace.
