Sky Sports reports that Rangers are in talks to sign Lyall Cameron from Dundee FC.
On Tuesday (14 January 4:04 pm), the broadcaster stated via their live transfer blog that the Light Blues are eager to finalise a pre-contract agreement with the midfielder, who has attracted interest from clubs abroad.
Cameron is in the final six months of his contract, and Dundee would be entitled to a compensation sum if he moves on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Patrick Stewart to immediately strike a Lyall Cameron deal for Rangers.
The Gers signed Connor Barron on a free transfer from Aberdeen last summer and are trying to do the same for Cameron this year.
Dundee would prefer not to lose the 22-year-old, who has eight goals and seven assists in 27 games in all competitions.
If the Scotland Under-21 international transfers to Ibrox, they may have to accept a compensation sum.
Rangers will want to avoid rival clubs grabbing a march on them.
As a result, it would not be surprising if Patrick Stewart and Cameron achieved an agreement on a free transfer soon.
It remains to be seen whether Philippe Clement will bring the kid to Govan during the current transfer window rather than waiting until the summer.
For the time being, it appears that their efforts are aimed toward signing him on a free transfer.
