Leeds United are reportedly unwilling to transfer striker Patrick Bamford, who is garnering interest from Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers.
Earlier today, Alan Nixon revealed that John Eustace’s Rovers were interested in signing out-of-favour Bamford to Ewood Park.
However, with Joe Gelhardt’s deal to Hull City expected to be completed in the coming days, the Whites are reluctant to lose Bamford, despite the fact that he has only appeared ten times in the league thus far in 2024/25.
Bamford is currently out with a hamstring injury received during the New Year’s Day tie with Blackburn, and Leeds manager Daniel Farke has stated he may not be able to return until the beginning of February.
Leeds United is not willing to transfer Patrick Bamford, despite Blackburn Rovers’ desire.
Despite Blackburn’s interest, Bamford appears to be committed to Elland Road for the foreseeable future.
According to LeedsLive, with Gelhardt’s transfer looming, Farke is hesitant to lose another attacking option, despite the fact that Bamford has only started once this season in all competitions.
According to LeedsLive, this stance is unlikely to alter unless the Whites can bring in someone to provide greater depth at the top of the pitch.
However, rushed signings are not Farke’s style, therefore Bamford will most likely have to wait until the summer before he can go on.
The 31-year-old has scored important goals for Leeds over the years, most notably during a two-year period between 2019 and 2021 when he led Leeds back to the Premier League with 16 league goals before scoring 17 the following year, a total that is comfortably higher than any of his other top-flight returns.

He has only played 123 minutes of league football this season, but he will most likely have to stay at Elland Road for a bit longer, as the Whites will only have Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as strikers if he leaves.
Despite Leeds United’s attitude, Blackburn Rovers’ interest in Bamford is unlikely to fade.
Given Blackburn’s need for additional firepower, their interest in Bamford is unlikely to lessen as January progresses.
Despite a five-game losing streak in the Championship, John Eustace’s side remains solidly in the play-off picture.
Rovers are currently eighth in the Championship and have excelled this season, with Eustace making the best of a group that was not expected to have a great season.
On Saturday, Plymouth Argyle midfielder Adam Forshaw became Rovers’ second signing of the January window, coming on a short-term contract.
Eustace will be aiming to add to his team and give them the boost they need to compete for the top six in the second half of the season.
Blackburn’s offensive is one area that requires significant improvement. Rovers have scored fewer league goals than any other team in the top half of the Championship, with only 28.
They sorely need more firepower to make the play-offs and potentially qualify for the Premier League at the end of the season.
With that in mind, it would be unusual if Eustace and Blackburn lose interest in Bamford anytime soon.
