Rangers have relied heavily on Hamza Igamane this season, but his “very serious” situation could be a source of concern come January.
Rangers have had a rather bad season thus far under Philippe Clement, but they can thank Igamane for keeping things from getting worse.
Given his performances, it’s no surprise that teams all over the world are vying for his services, and with his situation becoming “very serious” [Hanif Ben Berkane], concerns over a possible January exit may deepen.
If the Gers’ fortunes do not improve, there is a strong likelihood that Igamane may seek to advance his career, which would be a tremendous blow.
Rangers can’t afford to lose Hamza Igamane.
Rangers, despite their tiny size, have a chance to progress and achieve success this season. Igamane will be at the vanguard of that, so if they lose him, their prospects would undoubtedly be reduced.
Concerns have arisen in all areas of the pitch, with occasional defensive flaws shown, as well as attacking frailties, with Igamane being the only consistent provider of goals at Ibrox.
Given his high status and the fact that the Rangers are regressing under Philippe Clement, it may make sense for him to go on a new adventure, and few would argue that he deserves it.
His performance this season has been outstanding, and there must be some sympathy for the way those around him have held him back and the difference he can make.
Arguably the best bit of transfer business the Gers could do in January would be to retain his services, but it’s likely that that will be a very tough battle.
