Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has recommended Bayern Munich to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.
However, according to media reports, the Reds have an advantage over the Bavarians in securing the English starlet.
According to today’s Bild (news image supplied below), it will be ‘tough’ for BVB to keep Gittens, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham all interested in signing him.
In terms of Bayern, Hamann has recommended the Bundesliga leaders to entice the 20-year-old who performed admirably against them at the weekend.
However, the Liverpool veteran stated that the competition will be fierce because Premier League teams are eager to sign him. The 51-year-old explained:
“I’d consider signing Gittens (for Bayern), who is in form and can make a difference. What the child is currently demonstrating, the English (clubs) would welcome a player like him with open arms.”
Florian Plettenberg also confirmed Liverpool’s interest in signing Jamie Gittens. For the time being, the player wants to stay with Dortmund but hopes to return to his country in the future, giving the Reds an advantage over Bayern.
The Sky journalist stated that the Signal Iduna Park club will sell their star winger for £82.9 million (100 million euros).
The Merseysiders are currently the most in-form team on the continent and are unquestionably a more appealing alternative than Spurs and Chelsea.
Gittens has started 14 games in all competitions under head coach Nuri Sahin, a former Red, and has scored 12 goals.
In your opinion, should Liverpool bid £82.9 million for Jamie Gittens?
