Nottingham Forest are the form side going into this weekend’s game against West Ham, and Alan Shearer has predicted who will get three points.
Nuno Espirito Santo managed to give the fans their first home win of the season against Crystal Palace, and today’s game presents another opportunity to build on that home success.
Nottingham Forest will face a West Ham squad that has been inconsistent at times, but they are coming off a victory over Manchester United and the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
Interestingly, Julen Lopetegui has already stated how impressed he is with Forest and how difficult today’s game would be for his team, so he anticipates a challenge.
Alan Shearer has now offered his decision on the game in which he had to pick a winner, and he did not need much convincing.
Alan Shearer’s prediction for Nottingham Forest vs. West Ham
Shearer expected a win when Crystal Palace visited to the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest’s form speaks for itself, and their performances are indicative of a team full of confidence.
Shearer has now stated his prediction for this weekend’s match, and he is confident in the outcome.
Speaking in his Metro column, the former Newcastle United striker believes Nottingham Forest will win all three points.
“Nottingham Forest were impressive last week, and there’s no doubt Nuno has something going on. West Ham were terrible in the first half against Manchester United but fared much better in the second.
“With Forest at home and their confidence, I believe they will beat West Ham, especially with Chris Wood’s form – I’ve been very impressed with him in front of goal.”
“Wood is in top form, and his goal last week exemplified a confident forward.
“It’s an incredible feeling going out onto the football pitch expecting to score and he’s in that vein of form at the moment, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets another goal this weekend.”
Injury updates for Nottingham Forest
Nuno Espirito Santo has four concerns ahead of the West Ham game, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood, Jota Silva, and Elliot Anderson all injured.
It would be terrible if Chris Wood did not make the team because he has been in excellent form and has played a significant role in Forest’s success.
The Reds have done surprisingly well without Gibbs-White in recent games, but it is partly due to Anderson’s excellent performance, so he is another player they cannot afford to lose.
Interestingly, Jota Silva posted prior of the game implying that he is either hoping to be fit or wishing for a starting spot this weekend.
