According to Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze to boost their offensive options.
On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Roruke claimed that the Reds have joined Newcastle and Tottenham in the fight to recruit the 26-year-old offensive midfielder.
Eze’s £68 million release clause will become available in the summer of 2025, but with only two years left on his contract at that point, clubs are looking for a cheap deal.
According to sources, offers ranging from £50 million to £60 million might persuade Palace into selling the England international in order to make a large profit.
However, as evidenced by chairman Steve Parish’s negotiations with Newcastle over a move for Marc Guehi this summer, the Eagles will not be coerced into a cheap sell.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are thought to be unwilling to accept offers for any of their best players during the January transfer window.
Liverpool join the race to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze
Liverpool enters the contest to sign Parish expressed surprise at the lack of an official bid for Crystal Palace’s outstanding player, Eberechi Eze, after the summer transfer season.
Clubs prioritised other positions above offensive midfield throughout the summer window, but Palace’s England international remains in high demand.
Liverpool are set to address their midfield depth in January, with a new deep-lying midfielder at the top of their priority list, before focusing on Eze.
Guehi, another of the Eagles’ most prized players, has also been linked with a move to Anfield in 2025, as the club looks for a long-term successor for Virgil van Dijk.
On September 27, Football Insider stated that the Reds are looking for a cheap deal for the England centre-back, whose contract is about to expire.
After a difficult start to the season at Selhurst Park, where Oliver Glasner’s side failed to win any of their first six Premier League games, sources indicate the midfielder is looking for a fresh challenge.
Football Insider reported on October 1 that the England international could seek a move away from Palace, citing interest from the country’s best clubs.
