Liverpool are now just one point behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings after defeating Bournemouth 3-0.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz both impressed, with the latter scoring twice in the first half at Anfield.
Darwin Nunez was also on target, netting a wonderful goal in his maiden appearance for Arne Slot.
Nunez is expected to start his next game against West Ham in the League Cup on Wednesday.
Anfield will once again host the match, with the Merseyside club defeating the Cherries at home the last time.
Alan Shearer impressed by three Liverpool players in the win over Bournemouth.
It was another outstanding team performance from Liverpool, who returned to winning ways in the league following a stunning 1-0 setback to Nottingham Forest.
When choosing his Premier League Team of the Week, pundit Alan Shearer reserved special praise for three of Slot’s players.
Alexander-Arnold was included at the back, with Shearer stating: “Solid defensively and produced a surging run and perfectly weighted pass to assist Luis Diaz’s second goal.”
Ryan Gravenberch was also named as a “instrumental member of Liverpool’s midfield.” He’s adjusted very well to a more defensive role under Arne Slot.”
Shearer also mentioned Diaz, saying: “He’s becoming one of Liverpool’s go-to players, scoring two goals in quick succession to secure the victory over Bournemouth.”
Liverpool trio proves Arne Slot is progressing in every area.
Liverpool shone under Jurgen Klopp last season, but there were undoubtedly areas for improvement.
Rather than focusing extensively on the transfer market, Slot has certainly worked hard behind the scenes to develop his team.
Federico Chiesa was brought in to improve the attack, but Diaz has frequently taken it upon himself to be the main man up front, which was not the case last season.
Gravenberch, meanwhile, struggled to settle under Klopp, but he now appears to be an entirely different player.
And Liverpool’s defence has been the unsung heroes of the season, keeping four clean sheets in five league games.
