Brighton and Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 in a furious Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium, with both managers sent out in the dying seconds.
The Premier League has confirmed that Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler were fired for “unacceptable” conduct during the tight draw at the Amex Stadium.
Chris Wood and Ramon Sosa scored for the visiting club in a draw, while Brighton’s Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck did as well.
Tensions rose near the end of the game when Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off for a second bookable offence against Joao Pedro, resulting in both managers being dismissed for their actions.
“The referee issued a second yellow card to Gibbs-White for a reckless challenge on Pedro,” the Premier League Match Centre wrote on social media. “Fabian Hurzeler and Nuno Espirito Santo were both sent off for their unacceptable technical area behaviour following the incident.”
Both teams began the game undefeated, and a win would have moved either into the top four. Forest took the lead after Wood converted a penalty, but Brighton rallied before halftime thanks to goals from Hinshelwood and Welbeck, according to the Mirror.
After making tactical changes in the second half, Nuno’s decision paid off as replacement Jota Silva set up Sosa, who scored his first Premier League goal in only his second appearance.
Despite being down to ten men, the away team came close to winning in the last minutes. Unfortunately, Sosa was unable to connect with Callum Hudson-Odoi in the final seconds of the match.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Forest goalkeeper Wood stated, “I would have to see the challenge back, I have not seen it,” “It is one of those, Morgan has made a rash decision and we have to move on with that.”
“The management will have to come and remark on that because that’s what they do. Everyone wants to win and compete in the Premier League, and points are difficult to come by.
Brighton’s interim coach Andrew Crofts voiced concern about Joao Pedro’s injury, saying: “The tackle on Joao looked like it wasn’t a great tackle,” The Brazilian was seen walking with difficulty near the end of the game after being knocked down by Gibbs-White barely minutes after entering.
“We were upset about it. The reaction is to watch what the referee does. I didn’t notice it because I was chatting with another gamer. The next thing I saw were red cards for the managers.”
