According to Paul Robinson, Dan James’ hamstring injury will be a “huge blow” for Leeds United as they strive to climb the Championship standings.
Daniel Farke stated that the Welshman will be sidelined until after the October international break, following a setback during his recuperation [Yorkshire Evening Post].
James has made three Championship starts this season, scoring in a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, although he has not played a single minute since August 23.
Robinson told MOT Leeds News: “No Daniel James is a massive setback. Having lost Summerville and Rutter, Manor Solomon’s arrival has helped, although James can play anywhere across the front.
“His quickness, approach to the game, and directness give Leeds something different. He’s an important player, whether he starts or comes off the bench, and he’ll always be part of the matchday roster. “He’ll be greatly missed.”
Leeds United’s Dan James suffers an injury setback.
James is the type of player Farke cannot afford to be without for an extended amount of time, especially with worries about Solomon’s availability ahead of the Cardiff City game.
The 26-year-old winger had one of his best seasons, not only in a Leeds shirt, but in his whole career, with 13 goals and seven assists in the previous Championship season.
He was unavailable for a significant period of time during the conclusion of last season, but with Rutter, Summerville, and Wilfried Gnonto all on the roster, it was not a problem.
Farke will now have to hope that other players in the squad can step up and replace James while he recovers from his physical setback.
