Nottingham Forest has started the 2024/25 Premier League season unblemished, winning one and drawing two of their first three games.
The Reds also had a less tumultuous summer transfer window, with 11 new players signing for the club, including Marko Stamenic and David Carmo, who went directly to Olympiacos on loan.
Forest has a team to be proud of today. The Reds have plenty of talent across the board, and analysts’ pre-season predictions of relegation should be disproved immediately.
Nuno Espirito Santo is leading the Reds admirably, and hopefully this will be the season when Forest genuinely thrive in the Premier League.
Tony Cascarino offers the assessment on Nottingham Forest.
Forest had fortunate fixtures to begin with, but remaining unbeaten at this level is still an impressive performance.
The Reds have been in good form recently, but larger obstacles await them after the international break.
Cascarino discussed Forest on TalkSPORT, and he believes the Reds will have no problems this season.
He commented, “I like their forward line. Whether it’s Morgan Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Awoniyi, or Wood, there’s a lot there.
“Yes, I believe Forest has a lot to offer in terms of their style of play. Nottingham Forest, in my opinion, are not a relegation contender this season.
“I think pretty quickly they are a side that will be around mid-table mark, I think.”
The forest now has strength in depth.
The Reds have lacked bench options since regaining promotion to the Premier League.
Espirito Santo now has plenty of options in his Forest squad, with at least two players in each position on the pitch.
Forest have a number of players who can step up in the event of injuries or suspensions, but this is not an exciting time to be a fan.
Hopefully, the new signings will settle in fast, and Forest will become less inconsistent as a Premier League club.
Cascarino is correct in praising the club’s attacking possibilities, but it is encouraging that Espirito Santo has players capable of making an impact all over the pitch.
