49ers now simply have to agree on a new contract with Leeds United player; his form deserves it

49ers Enterprises has recently been successful in securing new contracts for some of Leeds United’s best young players.

Leeds were able to agree on a new four-year contract with Archie Gray earlier this year, which became effective roughly two weeks ago when he turned 18.

Gray’s fantastic breakthrough season has already piqued the interest of big teams, but Leeds is his boyhood club, so having him on a long-term contract is huge.

Mateo Joseph then joined him a few weeks later, and while he has struggled to get first-team minutes, his talent is clear to all.

However, the 49ers must not rest on their laurels after signing Gray and Joseph, since it is now clear who should be next on the list for another contract.

49ers must now give 20-year-old Leeds player a fresh agreement.

Back in January, news surfaced that a new deal with Willy Gnonto was on the verge of being finalized, though things have since quieted down.

LeedsUnited.News spoke with transfer specialist Graeme Bailey about the situation earlier this week, and he stated that arrangements had almost been reached between the two parties.

Gnonto was in a bad slump when rumors of a new deal surfaced, but he has now recovered to his finest form.

Gnonto, who came into the side due to Dan James’ injury, has scored six goals in nine league games since then, and his confidence levels have returned to where they were little over a year ago.

After such an impressive run of form, there would be no better moment to reward him with a new contract ahead of the summer, putting Leeds in a stronger position to determine his future.

Gnonto tells what Farke told him during the rough days in Leeds.

As previously stated, Gnonto has had a difficult season, making only two Championship starts between mid-October and the end of January.

That was mostly owing to the form of Crysencio Summerville and James, but his lack of match rhythm made it tough for him to perform at his best when he did play.

It was clear that it had an impact on his confidence, and in a recent interview with the Official Leeds United Podcast, Gnonto discussed how Farke managed to keep his spirits up.

He said: “He is fairly fair because there have been many times this season when I haven’t been at my best, and he was there to tell me, not that I needed him to because I expect a lot of myself.

“But he was telling me in training that he believes I can do better. But when you do nice things, he tells you, which I believe is fair because it has to go both ways.
