Borussia Monchengladbach wants to recruit Max Wöber permanently from Leeds United this summer, but they face a £14.6 million asking price.
As we approach June, the last games of the domestic seasons in Europe’s top flight divisions are drawing to an end.
Three Leeds loanees have been striving to impress in the Bundesliga, with mixed results: Robin Koch has already secured a permanent transfer, Max Wöber is pursuing one, and Brenden Aaronson could be demoted shortly.
Borussia Monchengladbach is in talks with Max Wöber for a £14.6 million deal.
Max Wöber has spent this season with Borussia Monchengladbach, and he has done enough to warrant permanent talks between his present team and his parent club.
According to Bild, Gladbach is seeking to recruit the Austrian international for €9 million (£7.7 million), while Leeds is asking for nearly double that amount, €17 million (£14.6 million).
Gladbach are currently annoyed by Leeds’ hardball negotiation strategy, which is aimed at making a profit on the price they paid to recruit the defender in January 2023.

The 49ers mean business this summer with player exits.
After being relegated, the club was unable to compete with the players’ power in terms of exits, forcing it to let several players go without obtaining compensation.
Daniel Farke was unhappy about having to discuss the situation, but he reaffirmed that the 49ers planned to prevent it from happening again in any future transfer window.
The first piece of evidence is Leeds’ goal with Wöber, which is not to entertain any low-cost transactions but rather to make a profit.
Leeds currently appears to have the upper hand in negotiations, and any clubs attempting to take advantage may face a much more forceful 49ers response.
