Bryan Gil is expected to depart Tottenham Hotspur again this month, with Lazio expressing interest in the winger.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Ange Postecoglou’s plans do not include Bryan Gil.
Gil has made ten appearances for Spurs this season but has unable to secure a spot in Postecoglou’s squad.
The 22-year-old has made just two starts, against Manchester City and Aston Villa.
Gil didn’t exactly shine in either game, and he’s fallen farther down the pecking order since Timo Werner arrived.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Lazio, and Maurizio Sarri is reportedly pushing for a deal to sign him.
According to sources in Italy, Tottenham are eager to transfer the winger this month.
Gil plans to depart Tottenham in January.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Sarri considered signing Gil this summer.
The winger is likely to leave Spurs again after returning from a loan spell with Sevilla last season.
However, it has been highlighted that Gil is ‘out of the plans’ at Spurs, and the club is eager to move him.
Gil joined Spurs from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 for a cost of £22 million, with Erik Lamela moving the opposite way.
It hasn’t quite occurred for the north London kid, who has already been loaned out twice.
It’s telling that Postecoglou started Werner over the Spaniard in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford nine days ago, despite the German having only trained with the Spurs squad for a few days.
Manor Solomon is also planning a return to play against Manchester City on Friday, while Heung-Min Son will return from the Asian Cup next month.
That might mean Spurs can offload Gil without depriving Postecoglou of options out wide, and the move could benefit both parties.
