West Ham United feel aggrieved after their 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on Monday night.
Going into the game, the Hammers were hoping to make it three wins on the bounce. However, Bruno Guimaraes ensured that did not happen.
Newcastle beat West Ham 1-0 at the London Stadium, with the Toon captain netting the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute.
It was a crucial moment for the Magpies, with Newcastle recording a vital win ahead of the Carabao Cup final.
However, Newcastle United’s winner was slightly controversial.

That is the view of West Ham defender Max Kilman, who believes he was fouled in the build up to the goal.
Kilman jumped in the air to try and head away Harvey Barnes’ cross, only for it to float over his head and into the path of Bruno.
However, replays showed that Kilman had received a nudge in the back from Alexander Isak. Despite the push, the goal was given by referee Michael Salisbury, while VAR did not overturn the decision.
After the game, Kilman was asked by Sky Sports if he thought it was a foul.
“Yeah, 100%,” he said.
“I jumped in the air and I felt a hard push. I’m an honest player, I wasn’t looking for anything. I felt like it was a foul and I think it should have been given.
“But that’s football. We just need to move on.”
Alexander Isak got away with a similar incident against West Ham last season
It is understandable why Kilman is frustrated with the decision.
There was definitely a push in the back from Isak, albeit a small one. From a Newcastle United perspective, you could say it was cute from the 25-year-old.
The decision went Newcastle’s way, just like it did when a similar incident occurred in the same fixture last season.
In October 2023, Newcastle and West Ham drew 2-2 at the London Stadium. Isak netted a brace, with one of his goals enraging the Hammers faithful.
Before scoring his second of the afternoon, Isak clearly put his hands on the back of Nayef Aguerd. It was nowhere near as subtle as what he did on Monday night.
But Isak got away with it in October 2023, and he got away with it in March 2025.
